FAQ's: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you take my insurance?
A: Insurance is a complicated and individual
issue. Although we do not participate in many plans as “preferred
providers,” most plans allow you to avail yourself of our services.
We will submit your claim and work with you to get the most
from your plan.
Q: I am fearful of getting dental work done. Will it hurt?
A: We pride ourselves in providing comfortable,
pain-free care. While you occasionally may have a little discomfort,
we are sensitive to your concerns. Nitrous Oxide (laughing
gas) is readily available. Dr. Spadafora is known among his
patients for his pain-free anesthesia injections. Also, medications
can be provided to reduce discomfort or stress. Our goal and
your goal are the same – excellent pain-free dentistry!
Q: My last dentist said that I have problems, but I don’t feel them and I have no symptoms. How can I be sure that what my dentist is telling me is the truth?
A: The relationship between the patient
and the dentist has to be built on trust, and that happens over time.
To supplement that trust, we utilize an intra-oral camera, which
can take pictures of any problem areas inside of the mouth. This
has been very helpful in building the trust between our office and
our patients because the dental problem is magnified and displayed
on a screen for the patient and doctor to review together.
Q: I would like whiter teeth. Can
I just use the stuff you buy in the drug store?
A: There are many over-the-counter options, and some of our patients have tried them, with mild success. However, we have found that our custom trays and the strength of our bleaching agent gives
our patients better, more consistent results. We are able to
monitor the patients’ progress and incorporate the whitening process
into a complete cosmetic plan. When it comes to over-the-counter treatments, you
typically get what you pay for.
Q: I have been thinking about changing
dentists, but didn’t get around to it. Now I have a toothache
and I think it is an emergency. Will Dr. Spadafora see me even
if I am not his patient?
A: We welcome all emergency cases, whether you are a patient or not, and
will do everything we can to get you out of pain as soon as possible. Just
call the office (early in the day is best) and we will try to get
you in that day. We are committed to giving you the best care available and have a 24 hour answering service to notify us as soon possible when an emergency arises. If
you are not already a patient, we know after meeting us you'll want to be!
