Whitening and Contouring
Our office uses two safe,
state of the art, whitening treatments - Boost (in-office) and Opalescence (in-home). Both systems have the combination
of effectiveness, consistency, and affordability that have allowed
us to produce beautiful white smiles for the past 20 years.
During our in-office
treatment using Boost, a whitening gel is placed directly on your teeth in fifteen minute intervals, for about an hour. You are constantly
monitored by our team for results and comfort. Using the in-home system, Opalescence, custom trays are made from impressions
of your mouth and teeth in our office. Then, you are
sent home with the trays, whitening gel, and directions. Desired
results usually take about two weeks.
Many times during the whitening process we will recommend tooth
contouring. Dr. Spadafora will gently reshape the tooth edges
to produce a more natural and even look. This process is completely
painless and often takes years off the appearance of your smile.

Gingival
Sculpting
This is a procedure used to enhance tooth whitening. Under
local anesthesia the gum line is reshaped and recontoured to offer
a more pleasing appearance. The process often takes less than
30 minutes and is usually completely painless during the healing
phase.

Bonding
Bonding is a general term in dentistry used for repairing chipped teeth, filling cavities, and closing
spaces. Several tooth colored materials
can be bonded to the teeth including: porcelain veneers, composite materials, inlays, onlays, and even gold crowns. The most common type of bonding is applying composite
material to the tooth. This material is shaped, smoothed, polished, and then hardened by the application of a blue light
to the tooth.

Porcelain
Veneers
An exciting option in the field of cosmetic dentistry is
the porcelain veneer. During this procedure, a thin shell of translucent porcelain
is bonded to the front of the tooth, much like an artificial
fingernail is attached. Candidates for this technology must have
structurally sound teeth. The best results are
usually obtained when multiple teeth are treated. Porcelain
veneers are ideal for covering over discolored teeth, as well as
reshaping teeth, closing gaps, and straightening some teeth. Veneers
are usually completed in two office visits because they require that the tooth
surface be prepared. Some patients are candidates for zero
reduction veneers, where minimal tooth structure is removed in the
preparation. This procedure is prevalent in
the reality makeover shows.

Full and Partial Dentures
Full, or complete, dentures are necessary
when all teeth are missing whereas, partial dentures are an option
when only some of the teeth are missing. Either way, modern
dentistry can produce a beautiful result that looks great and feels
comfortable.
Older dentures tend to wear out over time and become
loose, affecting the ability to chew comfortably. As dentures age and
wear down from use, the teeth appear smaller and creases and crack lines can
form at the corners of the mouth. With newer materials being
used for today’s dentures, we can achieve a more youthful look that
will last for years.
There is also an option of attaching today’s modern
denture to dental implants for an even more secure ability to eat
and function. Imagine
eating an apple or steak without worrying about your dentures getting loose. Technology
has come so far in the area of replacing teeth that people who are wearing
old, ill-fitting dentures are missing an exciting aspect of dental health.
